John. M. Cava (1953) is a practicing architect and writer in Portland, Oregon. John studied with Louis Kahn at the University of Pennsylvania and Kenneth Frampton at Columbia University with whom he collaborated on the book “Studies in Tectonic Culture”. He currently teaches history and theory of modern architecture while publishing work on modern and contemporary design in the Pacific Northwest.
